WANTED - 30-42' SAILBOAT FOR YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING - I want to share a dream that my wife and I are passionate about. We are avid sailors and we believe that sailing can be a powerful tool to teach leadership and entrepreneurship skills to indigenous youth. Our dream is to use the beauty of the Gulf Islands as an experiential learning platform where students can learn and grow into strong and empowered leaders of tomorrow.
As we prepare to move to Cowichan Bay, we are reaching out for advice and direction in finding a suitable sailboat to make this dream a reality. We want to create a safe fortable space on the water for 10 students to learn how to sail, while also developing the skills they need to succeed in life. We plan to offer the program for free, so that any student who wants to participate can do so, regardless of their financial situation.
We know that finding a suitable sailboat won't be easy, but we are determined to make it happen. We are looking for any ideas, mendations or prospects you may have, to help us find the best deal (or even a donation) of a suitable boat (day sailing only) to get us started.
As a mentor and coach in Calgary, I have developed a future leader development program that teaches everyone to be a leader, regardless of their age, title, or position. This program has been incredibly successful, and I am confident that we can create a similar impact on the munities in the region.
We are driven by our passion to make a difference in reconciliation by focusing on the lives of indigenous youth, and we believe that sailing can be a powerful tool to make this happen. If you can help us in any way, we would be incredibly grateful.
