VINTAGE STANLEY 12-204 WOOD SMOOTH PLANE NO 4 SIZE
GREAT SHAPE!!! LIKE NEW!!!
vintage Stanley no. 4 size bench wood smooth plane, original Stanley steel blade (12-204). A classic wood smooth plane made in England vintage type hand woodworking tool. Rarely used very good condition. Simply gorgeous tool. Nice hard to find Stanley well preserved over the years. Blue paint coating or japanning is in very good condition. Nice bright silver tone lever cap with vintage Stanley logo. Very good condition for the age. Still displays well. Should shaves wood like a dream. Nice and tight, found as part of a older gentleman's tool collection. It is a pleasure to use this old tool. Tool has some tiny few marks. All original parts marked "made in england" behind the rear handle the iron is marked with a vintage stanley logo, the original iron 12-204, lever cap is marked with a classic Stanley raised steel logo. All parts have clean easy motion. Adjustment nut turns easy, all clean threads,it is clean under the frog (good japanning under frog, not rusted out like most its age, good japanning, blue tone),screws are not locked up. The tool was taken apart and carefully cleaned it was found with a light coating of oil. The bottom plane is smooth no issues, some very light oxidation. Blade edge has few nicks or dings and still factory original no rust or pitting. Well kept by a older woodworker. Lifetime tool.
