Vintage Speakers Mirage SM-1

Excellent condition made in Canada in the early 80’s - Mirage SM-1 bookshelf speakers. Professionally refoamed woofers and brand new speaker cloth on the grill covers. All original drivers working flawlessly and sounding great. Features a 1” Philips dome tweeter and 8” Peerless poly cone woofers. These were pre-API Mirage. They later merged under the API umbrella along with panies Energy, Athena and Sound Dynamics. All beloved Canadian speaker manufacturers that carefully designed and tuned their speakers using state of the art facilities at the National Research Council in Ottawa. Fast forward a few decades and these same speakers still have better listenability and build quality than most newer Chinese mass marketed crap. These earlier Mirage speakers are ing far and few between and are small change for a little piece of Canadian audio history. Designed by legendary speaker designer Kevin Voecks. Cosmetically some very minor little nicks but overall in great shape for their age.
