Description: Large vintage ceramic appetizer platter. Mad Men style c1960s. Made in the USA, by Marcia of California Pottery, model E604. It has a similar look to that of pottery produced by Maurice Chalvignac, of Quebec, Canada. Vintage housewarming gift.
This square, ceramic serving dish has 5 sections, perfect for serving a variety of dips, relishes, crudités, or whatever appetizers you are offering.
The perfect addition to your midcentury modern (mcm) entertaining, use this beautiful platter as a centerpiece to show off its amazing patterns. "Marcia of California produced ceramics in L.A. from the late '50s through most of the 1960s. Complex glazes were a hallmark"
Spectacular drip glaze colours and patterns. Harvest gold (with a splash of brown) with a basket-weave design (some might say it looks like a spider web), it has glazed splotches in orangey-red and green on brown backgrounds. There are some beige blobs in there, too.

Condition: Platter is in excellent vintage condition (9.5 / 10), with no cracks. There is a small chip on the under edge, of about 1cm L x 0.5cm W, but is not visible from the top.
Dimensions: 16.5” (42cm) L x 14.5” (36cm) W x 1.5” H
Asking : $75 Can be delivered for a reasonable fee, within the Ottawa / Gatineau / Montreal areas.
