Antiques By Design - Retirement Sale! Victorian Rococo Rosewood buffet. These Rosewood pieces do e for sale often and this is in very nice original finish which we have had cleaned. The mirror is original set into an incredible Rosewood frame. The frame finished with pierced carved flowers leaf nuts berry’s & large C scroll work crest and continuing down the sides. The heavy mirror gallery is set securely onto the top of the server by three large dowels. The top on the buffet is serpentine shaped along the front & sides. We have had the top professionally restored where there is a separation in the join on the Rosewood likely due to age. There has been a spline added to the underside of the top so this separation is tight. The buffet cabinet has 2 pull out serving tables one on each side and the original round brass rings are in good condition. The buffet is fitted with a large felt lined cutlery drawer over a large bow front door opening to reveal a cupboard inside with large fixed shelf. The drawer is hand dovetail front & back and the beautiful original heavy sold brass handle and key hole escutcheon and Key. There are lovely floral & foliate carved corbels on either side of the drawer and below at the bottom of the door. The cabinet is set on cabriole carved foot and the side and front aprons are heavy finished with shaped bottom edge carved with C scrollwork. Dimensions: 56" wide x 23" deep x 73" high
