Upfitter product manager in Aurora

We are seeking an experienced Upfitting Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in mercial vehicle upfitting industry in functions of design engineering, fabrication, installation, and sales & marketing.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
· mercial electric vehicle upfitting hardware product lines, various trade packages, and specialty vehicles, as well as develop inhouse fabrication and installation strategy and planning in parallel. Develop project timelines.
· Design products to meet desired specifications for new products, cost improvements, channel initiatives, and other corporate objectives
· Play a key role in brain-storming new designs leveraging end user insights, competitive analysis, and use of manufacturing and customer care data
· Provide technical sales & marketing support and drive team to meet project deliverables/metrics for the upfitting products and specialty vehicle group.
· Inputs into product category budget planning
· Directing the development, planning and execution of manufacturing methods. Maintaining the efficiency, quality and safety of manufacturing processes; being accountable for new or old technology, and new or existing products.
· Work in conjunction with tooling, equipment and manufacturing engineers to develop and execute an achievable manufacturing build plan.
· Develop testing plans to ensure product design meets all government and internal safety and quality standards
· When developing new products, use the product development process to ensure all aspects of the project are considered
· Seek out, research, develop cost analysis, and justification for new methods, procedures, equipment, and materials
Qualifications:
· Engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent education and experience
· MUST have over 5 years experience mercial vehicle upfitting industry in functions of design engineering, fabrication, installation, and sales & marketing, being Upfitting Product Manager or similar
· MUST have extensive experience in upfitting hardware fabrication equipment & processes, and workstation design with significant “hands on “expertise
· MUST have in-depth working knowledge in designing the hardware product lines for mercial vehicle upfitting, new and sustaining product development design and ideally with mercial specialty vehicles industry background
· MUST have minimum 2 years of practical experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, project management, and process improvement skills.
· Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine shop equipment, materials, tooling, pneumatics, hydraulics, arc welding
· Five to seven years of new and sustaining product development design and independent project
· Experience with metal and plastic materials, structural analysis, fabrication and joining for high and low volume production
