TST (Truck Systems Technology) is a well known and quality manufacturer of tire pressure monitoring systems for trailers and recreational vehicles. Tire pressure monitors on your trailer can prevent extensive damage if a potential blowout is detected before it happens. It’s also a safety issue because a sudden tire blowout on your trailer could cause you to lose control and have an accident. We have an older 507 model with four flow-through (FT) sensors. The flow-through sensors allow the addition of air into the tire without having to remove the sensor. Cap sensors have to be removed if you need to add or remove air from the tires. This unit has always worked well with one exception. We have upgraded to a 5th wheel that is quite long and the display unit now loses the signal from one or more of the sensors after about a half hour of driving. The solution is to have a shorter trailer so that the signal doesn’t have to travel as far. We’d still be using this unit but for this issue. But if you have a shorter trailer, you’re not going to have any problems. One thing to note before considering this unit is that the sensors can only be used on METAL VALVE STEMS. If you have a trailer with rubber valve stems on the tires, this unit is not for you. There are newer models available, but there really is nothing wrong with this one, and the price is right!
