"The Fine Art Of Surfacing" was the 3rd album for Bob Geldof’s Boomtown Rats & turned out a solid a new wave 1 as you could find. “I Don’t Like Mondays” was the global smash, but it’s also atypical of the LP as a whole, which delivers sometimes quite sombre messages with exuberance & bounce. The 2 openers, “Someone’s Looking at You” & “Diamond Smiles” are highlights but the other tracks hold up well. (EX/EX) Thanks for looking.
