Job Description:Job Description Northern Transformer Corporation is a North American manufacturer of liquid filled transformers of the highest quality and reliability serving the North American market since 1981. From custom specialty transformers to large utility substations, Northern Transformer designs, engineers and manufactures liquid filled transformers to fit all needs. Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for a Technical Buyer to join our team. Job Responsibilities:Maintain munication to ensure timely and accurate procurement of parts and materialsCoordinate and monitor logistics with suppliers and paniesTrack status of all orders and take appropriate actions if delays are encounteredPrepare customs paper work as necessaryRaise corrective actions for defects from Suppliers and work on resolutionReview inventory levels and action as neededReview engineering requisitions, solicit quotes from vendors and negotiate best pricing and deliveryWork with AP, receiving and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicingMaintain and enhance the operational relations with suppliers and contribute to petitiveness of business by optimizing purchasesContinuously monitor materials on the shop floor and developed improved methods to procure and manage stockWork with sales, engineering and production team to ensure appropriate materials are procured in line with the estimated costs and propose solutions to address gapsMaintain accurate information in the ERP system Qualifications and SkillsPost-Secondary education in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)A minimum of two (2) years related experience in purchasingWorking knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and inventory control policies, processes and procedures Excellent munication skills both written and spokenExperience using ERP systems – Epicor ERP preferredStrong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and WordAbility to work well with all members of the organization - from the receiving dock to the management teamExcellent organization and planning skills Preferred Knowledge Knowledge of the transformer or high ponents industry Ability to understand CAD drawings Knowledge of electrical and ponents Company Description Northern Transformer Transformer Corporation is a North American manufacturer of liquid filled transformers of the highest quality and reliability serving the North American market since 1981.
