Super Healthy SPIDER PLANTS-Air Cleaner and Easy CareHouseplant

Several pots of super healthy Spider Plants (osum) are available at $6 each or 2/$10. A huge 14” diameter pot of large spider plants is also available for $28. (See pics.) I also have a good selection of many other varieties of houseplants. (See my other ads.) Spider Plants are houseplants, although they can be kept outside during the summer. The adult spider plants are producing babies, on lovely arching stems, as you can see in the attached pics. They would make a lovely gift for someone special or add a living touch to your own home decor. Studies (including those of NASA) have shown that Spider Plants improve indoor air quality by absorbing harmful elements in the air. SPCA also indicates they are not toxic to puppies and dogs. Spider Plants look fabulous in a hanging basket, or placed on a table or fern stand where their graceful arching stems with the plant “babies” on the ends make an eye-catching display. Spider Plants are one of the easiest houseplants tor beginners to grow; they are also among the most interesting. Spider Plant needs are simple: Bright to moderate light in a room that’s fortable temperature for everyone. Moist, but not wet soil. Watering once a week, with room temperature water, should be enough. In winter, allow the soil to dry a bit more between waterings, as their growth slows a bit at this time. Spider plants are sensitive to fluoride in tap water, so you might consider (although I don’t) using distilled water or rainwater for the plants. Or, you could just leave the water sitting overnight before adding it to the pot. Spider plants enjoy high humidity. Fertilize once a month with a balanced houseplant fertilizer, using half the strength indicated in the product directions. I also flush the soil with lots of water every couple of months, to get rid of fertilizer buildup in the soil, which can cause the leaf tips to turn brown.
