Summer Camp 3:1 ratio!

Last year, I ran my own bi-weekly summer camp, and this year I have a 100% return rate for the 3 kiddos who were enrolled….so I am doing it again! My background: I am currently a preschool teacher in Kanata. I have over 15 years of childcare experience. I’ve worked in residential group care facilities - in various settings (i.e. working with youth/young adult plex and dual diagnosis; working in an emergency residential group home; provided 2:1 independent residency support for troubled teens). I was an autism therapist in Toronto, I've worked an ESL teacher in Korea for a handful of years. I have also done private nannying and respite for numerous families. I gear my services towards families looking for more 1-on-1 care for their child; children who wouldn’t be able to attend a typical day camp due to lots of children, over stimulation, and lack of support would truly benefit. The summer camp would be offered bi-weekly from my home in kanata. I have space for 3 children per week. I don’t have an age group as it would all depend on the child’s development and abilities! I incorporate energy-release activities, safe risky play, and outdoor learning. We will be going to lakes, forests, and mountains (…hills* in this area ), and splash pads, museums, and food trucks! There is usually one bigger outing planned on Thursdays that my partner will join us for as extra support in munity. I offer 2 healthy snacks a day that I encourage the kids to help me prepare. Lunch will be packed from home. Some days, we will also provide a full lunch when we're out and about. Doors open at 8, and there is no pick up cut-off as I like to offer as much flexibility to families as I can! (Additionally we also provide over night and weekend care) Not only will this be a fun and safe space for your child to spend the day, but I will also help encourage their independence and self-growth.
