If you’re looking for a great outdoor job and a chance to deliver exceptional guest experiences, PortsToronto has the following opportunity awaiting you: TEMPORARY WORK – May 2023 to September 2023 Part Time Work Available Through Mid-November 2023 STUDENT MARINA ATTENDANT, OUTER HARBOUR MARINA Students are needed. This position would suit an individual who enjoys being in the outdoors and who enjoys being part of a team. It is a temporary position. Work is scheduled in shifts between the hours of 0700 – 2200 hours, consisting of full-time and part-time hours. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Cleaning and maintenance of washrooms and offices. • Grounds-keeping including weeding flowerbeds, cutting lawns, picking up litter, emptying garbage and recycling containers. • Fuelling of boats, pumping out holding tanks, and selling sundry items at the gas dock. • Performing dock-walks to check vacancies of berths. • Answering the telephone and in-person inquiries about the services provided by the Outer Harbour Marina. • Providing a high-level of exceptional client service to our guests. • ply with all PortsToronto policies and procedures including Health and Safety policies, SOPs, procedures, and legislated requirements. • Must wear designated safety equipment/PPE as required. • Any other duties that may be assigned by PortsToronto. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be currently enrolled full-time in a Post-Secondary Institution. • Possession of G2 or higher Driver's License, must have own transportation to work location. Note that work location is not accessible by public transportation. • Possession of a Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification is an asset. • Possession of CSA certified safety boots. • Able to swim and tread water for 2 minutes is strongly mended. • Able to lift up to 25 Kgs (50 Lbs.) floor to waist. • Fluency in English. Ability municate in French is a definite asset. • Must be professional, neat in dress and appearance. *This is a Union represented position belonging to CUPE*
Job Location: 475 Unwin Avenue (foot of Leslie Street) Wage Rate: $16.65 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay Note that work location is not accessible by public transportation.
