Sterling Silver Salt & Pepper Shakers, Sanborns, Mexico, NEW PRI

Matching pair of sterling silver salt and pepper shakers, made by the Sanborn brothers in Mexico City. Age is unknown, but likely to be mid-20th century. The pair weighs 4.8 oz and are 5 3/4 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches maximum width. The shakers are beautifully decorated with spring flowers and vines in bas relief. I have not been able to find any Sanborn sterling silver shakers online with this floral pattern, perhaps suggesting rarity. The shakers have the expected mensurate with their 70 year age. There is black, spider web patina on the main body of the shakers, but not on the base or the neck ring. This patina could be removed by more vigorous polishing. These Sanborn shakers have been inherited from family members who were the original purchasers. Reason for selling is that they are surplus to our needs. Dark areas in photos are reflections of the table and ceiling. Asking $75 o.n.o.
