STEPPE BISON PRISCUS European ICE AGE GERMANY FOSSIL SKULL

Hello! Here is a rarity - a partial Ice Age Bison skull from Europe. Bison priscus also known as Steppe Bison once roamed the entire northern hemisphere. Some people are surprised to learn Bison were also once native to Europe and northern Asia. This specimen was found 20 meters below the surface, approximately 20 years ago while dredging in a gravel pit near Wesel, Nordheim, Germany. Today, most of the fossils found in these deep pits are destroyed by modern gravel extraction methods.
This specimen is not in perfect condition but it is impressive in it's own right. There is some minor bone flaking but otherwise it is solid for it's great age. The dark brown patina makes this one stand out. 29 inches wide. Hard to find one like this, check the internet and you will see. Great for anyone interested in the history of Bison. $1,000.00.
