Sony's CMT-HPX7 offers clean stereo sound in an elegant, compact design. It's small enough to fit on a bookshelf or desk, but this versatile system is not short on playback options. For starters, you can load up the CD disc player with CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and even long-playing MP3 CDs. You also get clear, drift-free tuning with the built-in digital AM/FM tuner. And the single cassette deck lets you listen to your favorite tapes and make recordings from CD, the radio, or even an external source connected via the auxiliary input. The drivers work together to produce balanced sound from top to bottom. Driven by 150 watts of total system power, the CMT-HPX7 packs a surprising wallop! Fine tune the sound with the bass and treble controls to suit your tastes.

FEATURES:

* Dynamic Sound Generator X-tra: This feature gives you more powerful sound with reinforced bass. * Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the system off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be adjusted from 0-90 minutes in 10-minute increments, or it can be set to Auto. In Auto mode, the system automatically turns off in 100 minutes, or after the current CD or tape finishes playing. * Play Timer: You can use the play timer as an alarm clock to wake up to a cassette, a CD, or the radio. Once the timer is active, it will operate everyday at the set time. * Record Timer: Once daily, you can record from a preset radio station to the cassette deck. The timer allows you to specify a start and stop time. * AM/FM Intervals: FM tuning is done in 0.1 MHz steps, and AM tuning is done in 9 kHz or 10 kHz steps. * CD Disc Player: This unit features a pop-up CD loading tray that can hold 12cm discs and one 8cm disc. The "+1" tray can only modate the smaller 8cm discs. * Disc Compatibility: This unit will play prerecorded CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, or MP3 CDs. * MP3 Playback: This unit will play MP3 files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 level 1/level 2, Joliet or Romeo formats. Each disc can have a maximum of 150 albums and the unit will play no more than bined total of 300 albums and tracks. * Tape Playback: This unit allows you to play Type I (Normal) tapes. * Recording: Using a Type I (Normal) tape in the cassette deck, you can record from a CD, the radio, or a ponent. * Speaker Outputs: This unit has left and right spring clip speaker terminals that can accept bare wire and pin connectors.
