Sirius Motosports Inc sold me a certified car for $11,863.87 with hidden engine and transmission issues.
According to an email by the sales manager at BMW Toronto, the car was sold to Sirius Motosports Inc as-is and not inspected. The car requires over $13,837 in repairs according to the Windsor BMW dealership. It was later brought to Canadian tire for a safety. I called them and they confirmed they do not have the proper scanner to scan BMWs. They confirmed that the did some brake work and replaced 4 tires.
The car was driven three times before it went into limp mode. I have informed Martin Mattes of the issues on June 6, 2022. The car was brought to Windsor BMW to have a full inspection and diagnosis. Windsor BMW concluded with repair quotes over $13,837 in repairs after tax. The car is still a Windsor BMW awaiting parts for repair. The car suffered from the following fault codes:
2E85 - BSD Message, electric coolant water pump, Missing 2A32: 0x2A32 Valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: reference 2A37: 0x2A37 Valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: plausibility 56C5: Shift valve B - stucco off 56BF: Clutch gears 1, 2, 3 and 4 - Indicated Neutral test failed 2DED: 0x2DED power management, closed-circuit monitoring 6E82: 6E82 - Rear brake pad sensor: Line fault 9CD0: Drive Beiklappen mirror passenger side defective 9CCF: Drive Beiklappen mirror driver side defective
On June 10, 2022, the car went into limp mode and had to be towed. On June 14, error codes was read and it indicated water pump failure by 2E85 error code. The water pump and thermostat was replaced on June 20, 2022. The water pump and thermostat was directly connected and cannot be replaced without removing both, therefore, they were replaced. Confirmation of the successful repair was done through Bimmerlink, showing the live water pump speed and water pump temperature.
On June 28, 2022, the car was scanned for error codes due to erratic shifting. Error codes 2A32 and 2A37 indicated faulty eccentric shaft sensor. The car was at the Windsor BMW for a full inspection and diagnosis. The BMW dealership concluded with $5072.73 of repairs before taxes. The most costly items was the eccentric shaft sensor, $2,199.66 and the leaking valve cover gasket, $1,449.73. On July 1, 2022. The eccentric shaft sensor and valve cover gasket was successfully repaired. Confirmation was done by reading the error codes through Bimmerlink and valve cover inspection.
On July 5, 2022, the car was scanned for error codes due to erratic shifting. Two transmission related error codes appeared: 56C5 and 56BF. The car was brought to Windsor BMW shortly. The dealership concluded in replacement of the mechatronics unit in the transmission. The cost of repair was $5,467.54 before taxes and the part would arrive from Germany in four to five weeks. On August 11, the Windsor BMW dealership informed me that the ordered part was incorrect and did not fit. A new and more expensive part would have to be ordered. It would take another two to three weeks for delivery. The new total cost is $7172.69 before taxes.
