Rare 'U-Test-Em' Self-Serve Radio Vacuum Tube Tester

A rare 'U-Test-Em' vacuum tube tester, originally sold to and used by stores back in the 50's and 60's, plus over 100 tubes. 'Self serve tube testers' are among the most collectible. Customers would take their bad tubes down to the hardware/electronics store and use this tester - new replacement tubes were located in metal drawers under the main test unit. This U-Test-Em is in working condition, see the pictures, have used it to test hundreds of tubes. The bright colored top graphic is in great shape, and the three slide drawers have over 100 tubes included. Good tube testers have up to about 24 sockets - this tester has 73 different tube test sockets. The paper tube selection roll works well, the 'Battery Test' feature works, and both meters and the Gas and Shorts and Test switches all work well. Measures 56 inches tall by 21 by 21 inches, weighs over 50 pounds. The original drawer locking key is included. $575 or best offer. All exterior surfaces cleaned.
