It's a big sweet sounding amp with lots of power that produces a deep, very fine and rafinated soundstage. It never gets aggressive or harsh and sounds very delicate in the highs. I have a older SB-404S which is a great amp as well but the SB-620 is from a other league! It took me some time to listen in because he needs to warm up after months without use but then he revealed all the fine music structures and stage depth. It's 38 years old and original, so you can imagine how well build this amp was and Toshiba used first class parts and materials like a big Alps volume control and a huge transformer. I am very happy i could lay my fingers on one and this one is build for a life time, soundwise and construction! The damping factor is 30 and that's a sign they did not use a lot of feedback in the amp but the bass is great and well controlled. The huge benefit of low feedback is a more natural clear and transparent sound which is killed buy modern high feedback designs. The Toshiba engineers new very well what they where doing and made a great product that last a lifetime, praise for them! They must have loved music.."
