RARE CLARKSON OF YORK HORIZONTAL MODEL LIVE STEAM ENGINE

Here's a rare large and powerful, single-cylinder horizontal engine by Clarkson of York, with a side-mounted cylinder. It is mounted on a large heavy cast iron base plate measuring 10.6 inches long by 5 inches wide and 2 inches high and has the maker's name “Clarkson” cast in. The engine has an approx bore of 1.75 inch diameter and a stroke of approx 2 inch and has a sleeved crosshead driving an overhung crank. It has a substantial 6 inch diameter by 1 inch wide heavy flywheel, and is finished in attractive Oxford blue.

It is all in good condition and fully working on air or steam. This engine would be capable of driving many accessories and models.
