Rare 1963 Westinghouse 6678 / 6U8A Preamp Vacuum Audio Tubes

A sleeved set of five 1963 Westinghouse 6678 / 6U8A preamp triode pentode audio tubes, very rare set, all test NOS, all are date code matched, all are in original boxes. $150 or best offer. Very clear, detailed, warm sound; the 6678 is an upgrade to the 6U8A. All these tubes have the '309' (9th week of 1963) and 'C' (Canada) code on the glass. All tested in NOS range on calibrated BK 747, with results as: • Remaining Life - all pass test, • Shorts - none, all pass test, • Grid emissions - all pass test, • Test 1 - all five tubes test greater than 120 (where 68 is minimum), • Test 2 - all five tubes test greater than 120 (where 68 is minimum). All pictures, including the test results, are of these Westinghouse tubes. All are labeled on the glass with 'Westinghouse' and '309' and 'C' in yellow text, and with '6678 6U8A Made in Canada'. Very clear logos. Larger top halo ring getter as seen in pictures. All boxes are in good crisp condition, measure 3 inches tall, and all have the 'Westinghouse' and '6678 6U8' label on the top end flap. All boxes are labeled 'C5' on the bottom end flap. Boxes and sleeve are all bilingual (English on one side and French on another side). This tube set came from a pany's reserve stock department, and a one-page detailed written provenance is included.
