"Jane was born in Montreal, Quebec. When she was a child, Jane's family spent part of each summer on Georgian Bay, Ontario, where Jane began painting in oils and pen & ink drawings to capture the interplay of wind, water, and trees. Jane began a career in nursing in 1972, graduating from the Montreal General Hospital. Over the past 38 years her nursing practice led her to munities in Eastern Canada including Northern Newfoundland, Quebec-Labrador, Cape Breton Highlands, and mainland Nova Scotia. Working and living in Northern newfoundland and Quebec solidified a spiritual connection to sea, sky, rugged land, and the people who thrive in them. Art became a vehicle for expressing her passion for these elements. Jane's 'moving around Canada' enabled the development of her dual passions of nursing and art, which she sees plementary. Present paintings are watercolors/pen & ink and acrylic. Her work includes illustrations of narratives (The Seal Fishing Diary of Laurie Cox) which are included in historical displays (Harrington Harbour Historical Society), paintings and greeting cards (Lytesome Gallery, Antigonish, Nova Scotia), and illustrated prose and fictional narratives for children."
