Bales are 14”x18”x36”; there are 12 bales per pallet, each 5.25 cu.ft bale is roughly 40lbs +/- 5lbs and expands to 9 cu.ft.
Our hemp fiber bales are very absorbent, absorbing 30% more than straw. Hemp is naturally antibacterial, durable and has unique structural properties, giving it high-load bearing capacity (3.5x stronger than straw!)
The hemp is grown sustainably in Southern Alberta, and is manufactured using our advanced hemp processing technology at our facility in Calgary, AB, that does not damage the fiber strings, keeping the fiber long (~6-30” in length), strong and structurally intact for use in structural applications.
POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS
EROSION, STORM WATER AND SEDIMENT CONTROL Serves as a natural barrier in erosion control and is an effective, sustainable solution to sheet and rill erosion problems for sediment control and storm water runoff. / Shape stable and heavy bales ( ~40lbs +/- 5lbs) / Ideal use: In ditches for storm water control, Flood control, As a silt fence replacement on steep slopes, Construction job-site sediment control applications, In wattles/erosion logs as a high-performance, highly-durable replacement for straw.
ANIMAL BEDDING (LIVESTOCK AND HORSES) Superior absorption, when loose. As hemp fiber is highly-absorptive it es more cost effective overtime as you aren’t required to change it as frequently as straw/hay bedding.
GROUND COVERING AND MULCH When loose (taken out of bale form), has superior water retention, reducing the frequency of watering./ Fiber strands are long and durable, making it an effective soil insulation to trap air and protect the soil from temperature fluctuations and plants/trees from extreme cold or heat./ Long fiber strands are intertwined, keeping the fiber in place and is not easily disturbed by wind, water and foot traffic. Contains no seeds, minimizes weed growth and postable. Ideal Use: Tree/Plant Nurseries, Vegetable/Fruit Farms, Garden Beds, Greenhouses
