PHOENIX - A GEM among ponies!
The ultimate pony for a younger intermediate rider or a confident, strong-willed older beginner. Phoenix was used for a 10-year-old boy (85 lbs) who had about 1 hour of riding but lots of natural talent and an abundance of confidence! Less than a week after we bought Phoenix, the boy rode him for about 30 minutes in yard, then in a parade and a gymkhana with absolutely NO issues! He has been on multiple 12-mile (round trip) cattle drives, herded and sorted cows, 4-H, and trail rides. Navigated water, ditches, hills, valleys, and deadfall with no issues. We also used him for two other 8-year-old children who had no riding experience and with less confidence; but in a smaller area and he was a gem! Did everything he was asked to do with no vices. He loads perfectly, has excellent feet, stands well for farrier, lets you get in his mouth, and is an easy feeder. Phoenix is about 10-11 hh, 15-20 years old, with no known health issues. We are selling because our 5-year-old is very gentle, hesitant, and not assertive. Videos with older boys available on request. Alliance, AB.
