Philips (Mullard Blackburn) 12AT7 ECC81 Vacuum Tubes - Rare 1967

A rare and desirable set of five matched Philips 'Import' ECC81 (12AT7) audio tubes by Mullard at Blackburn, all test NOS, all are in original boxes with sleeve. Very smooth, warm and silky sound. $410 or best offer. Three of these tubes were made in the 3rd week of May 1967, and two on the 4th week of May 1967 - its not mon for manufacturers to package adjoining weeks in one sleeve. All tested NOS on calibrated BK 747, with results as: • Remaining Life - all passed test, • Shorts - none, all passed test, • Grid emissions - all passed test, • Test 1 - all five tubes test greater than 120 (where 68 is minimum), • Test 2 - all five tubes test greater than 120 (where 68 is minimum). All pictures, including the test results, are of these Philips/Mullard tubes. These ECC81's are all labeled on the glass with 'PHILIPS', 'ECC81', 'IMPORT', and 'TK3/B7E4' on 2 tubes and 'TK3/B7E3' on 3 tubes, where 'TK3' = third iteration, 'B' = Mullard at Blackburn, '7' = 1967, 'E' = May and '3 or 4' = third and fourth week. Very clear as-new logos. Plates have the three holes, short grey plates and a robust top halo getter as seen in pictures. The boxes are in very good crisp condition, measure 3.3 inches tall, and all have the correct 'PHILIPS', 'ECC81', 'IMPORT' label on the top end flap. All boxes are labeled '3322 200 29611' on the bottom end flap, the sleeve is marked '3322 200 29681' on the bottom. Each box top secondary flap also has a ghost outline of 'ECC81' on it. This tube set came from a pany's reserve stock department, and a one-page detailed written provenance is included. See our other sale items for more audio tubes.
