Just lovely. Deep sound. Widely regarded as one of the best sounding speakers Paradigm ever put out. Great dynamics, imaging, separation and clarity. Bold, sculpted, smooth sound. Unlike 11se mkII and 9se mkII these are not boomy. Designed to be neutral (slightly on warm side) and will show flaws in your amp/source right away. Don't pair them with a cheap surround receiver; they were not built for that kind of abuse. Perfect as home monitor speakers. They do love power; I'd say 120 to 250 Watts per side (true RMS) is optimal for iron fist control. I tested them with JBL Pro MPX1200 and the control was perfect.

Please note that 7SE II have nothing to do with original 7SE; the X-overs, tweeters, cabinets and sound are entirely different. The woofer looks similar, but is still different. I never liked the first edition (5se, 7se, etc), but Mk II and Mk III are entirely different beasts.

Paradigm 5se II and 7se II have the reputation of overachievers, sounding as good as many speakers at three times the price. They produce big sound from pact boxes and translate music surprisingly well. They can also go very loud and still clean/clear.

The search for further improvements over the 5seMkII in spectral linearity and dynamic power output led to the development of the 7seMkII. With a larger enclosure and higher-power drivers, the 7seMkII achieves deeper bass and greater dynamic output ability. The more sophisticated dividing network enables even better musical clarity and three-dimensional imaging. Here is remarkable low-coloration performance with wide bandwidth, low distortion and high power handling. The 7seMkII exemplifies the idea that strict adherence to the principle of simplicity and elegance of design results in a product whose performance is second to none at a price with which none pete.
