• delightful large oil painting on canvas with dark green wood panel matting • measures including frame: 34.75”H x 26.5”W x 1.75”Thick • art inside frame measures: 29.5”H x 21.5”W • I am going to assume the painting is antique due to the fabulous rear framing with fantastic wood corner supports / rusted nails etc. - moisture marks canvas back • silver coloured wood framed - frame has some paint wear as shown
• signed bottom facing right corner: H. Spieler - signed bottom facing right corner: H. Spieler Spiezler? BRASS PLAQUE AT BOTTOM of FRAME READS: The Crystal Gazers HIRAM SPEILER - appears the artist signed his name with several variants - Speiler Spieler
• partial framer rear labels - origin unknown - most likely, Great Neck New York as the second painting by same artist still has the full rear framer's label from Great Neck New York
• no tears - two canvas indents at top (tried to capture in photos # and photo #) - a few very small spots of paint loss (at least I think they are?) • $500.00 – pickup in St. George, Ont. N0E 1N0
