The Jan Philips 12AT7 is a military-grade mini 9-pin medium gain dual-triode vacuum tube. Commonly used in guitar amplifiers, it was originally designed for use in VHF circuits, including FM tuners The Jan Philips 12AT7 tubes are used in a wide range of vintage electronics as well as guitar amplifiers that are currently being used. Made in USA, black plates, halo getter Excellent condition with beautiful flashing. Perfectly balanced triodes and values well above nominal specifications. U.S. Air Force version, these are the best 12AT7 ever made, Use these in the phase inverter stage of all of high gain and medium gain amps, which gives more clean headroom and less power amp distortion. This allows you to drive the preamp section harder, with more clarity and smoother harmonic content. Also used in all of the Reverb stages of amps with spring reverb, which really dials back the over bearing "springiness", and gives more control over the total amount of Reverb. - Phase Inverter stage on almost any amplifier, especially high gain amps. - Reverb stage on vintage amps that use a 12AX7. (Reduces overwhelming reverb). - Any normal 12AT7 stage, where you want the best possible quality tube. NOS Jan Philips 12AT7 tube is a Philips branded 12AT7 dual-triode vacuum tube used in a wide range of VHF circuit electronics. The Jan stands for Joint Army and Navy product, which is designed to meet military specifications. The NOS stands for new old stock, which is the condition of the tube. This refers to the tube having been manufactured by the pany but no longer being in production.
