Original Nissan Stabilus Rear Hatch Stays for Nissan Rogue 2011. Bought from dealer and paid over 600 CAD (see photos). Disappointed with them since day one. Here's the full story: I bought my used Nissan rogue 2011 at 87k kms. Original rear stays were not opening rear door fully, requiring me to push it further every time. When they are up they hold the door, but they were not strong enough to push fully, causing people to hit their head. Asked dealer to check the issue when it was at 106,437 kms, dealer said old stays were shut and need to be replaced. Back then I was naive and believed everything dealer was saying so I paid them 600 CAD to replace the originals with these crap which performed little bit better but still were not strong enough to push rear door fully. As I was not happy with the new product, I visited the dealer again at 106,886 kms. They lubricated the hinges and reported as working fine. Of course it wasn't and they didn't see any issue with a rear door that can't push itself! After a while, I went to another Nissan dealer plained about the stays. They said they can fix it for 250+HST!!!! Wtf are you going to fix? it's a gas pressured, closed system, you can only throw it away! At this point I gave up and decided to live with it. Recently, I found about strong arm brand stays at Canadian Tire which were 60 CAD for a pair. It took me 5 minutes to replace them both and they are much much better. When I installed Strong Arm, the car was at 190,500km. So if you can afford, go buy Strong Arm stays at Canadian Tire. If you can't, here's your chance to own original Nissan branded for a fraction of the price. Don't get me wrong, they still operate as brand new, the problem is they were sub par since day one.
