Marc Hamilton, est né en Gaspésie en 1943. Il passe sa jeunesse à Saint-Timothée, près de Valleyfield. En 1964, il fonde le groupe les Shadols, dans lequel il est chanteur et guitariste. En 1965, le groupe change de nom pour celui des Monstres. Marc Hamilton se joint ensuite au groupe les Caïds de 1967 à 1968. Par la suite, Marc entreprend une carrière en solo. Il devient célèbre du jour au lendemain en 1970 avec la fameuse chanson "Comme j'ai toujours envie d'aimer". Le plus grand succès de l'été 1970 au Québec et en France. Numéro 1 de tous les palmarès pendant plusieurs semaines. Un méga succès, 200 000 exemplaires du 45 tours sont vendus uniquement au Québec et en Europe 1 500 000 exemplaires. La chanson est diffusée dans plusieurs pays et elle est reprise en d'autres langues. ()
L'impact de son tube hors mun laisse justement dans l'ombre les autres pièces de l'album "Marc Hamilton", paru en mars de la même année. Celui-ci s'avère pourtant un condensé subtil et volontaire des diverses avenues pop du temps. Qu'il suffise de mentionner les arrangements hard rock de "C'est que tout va bien", la parenté de "Entre les fleurs" avec la tendance russophile de certains titres de Mary Hopkin et de Rika Zaraï, ou encore la psychedelia orientalisante de "Tapis magique". Here is a 1970 canadian vinyl album of Marc Hamilton, former member of the french canadian 60's garage bands Les Shadols, Les Monstres and Les Caïds before ing solo in 1969. This LP contains the superb eastern sitar "Tapis Magique", "Laissez-Moi Dormir" with it's garage-fuzz riffs and other superb psych hippie love ballads.
