Looking for different grapes varieties cuttings but Valiant /which I already have. I have some extra Valiant cuttings for swap/ trade .( I am also interested in Cornekian Cherry plants.) This variety will mature during early Fall. Very hardy and produces grapes pact clusters. The grapes are sweet, juicy, royal purple colored, and seeded. Made into wines. It's a juice, jelly, and wine grape. (I'm told you get a wine much like Mogan David, but much depends on your skills as a vintner) Many like this variety for fresh eating as it is similar to concord grapes. This variety will produce bluish red clusters of grapes that are great for jellies and juice. Valiant has excellent acid and sugar balance, so makes outstanding jelly and juice. This is a self-pollinating variety so only one plant is required to set fruit. Valiant is the only one that ripens its berries every year. Full sun, Zone 2 Valiant should not have much trouble with Edmonton winters. They say Valiant has withstood -46C unharmed in Manitoba. One of the hardiest of all grape varieties. Grapes have long been used to cover arbors and trellises. Self-pollinating variety. Prefers a moist, well-drained soil. It requires a support system to grow on and is a large-space vine. Valiant Grape will grow to be about 10 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 6 feet. As a climbing vine, it should be planted next to a fence, trellis or other rigid structure where it can be trained to grow upwards on it. It grows at a fast rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 20 years. This is a self-pollinating variety, so it doesn't require a second plant nearby to set fruit. This woody vine is typically grown in a designated area of the yard because of its mature size and spread. It should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter to protect it in exposed locations or colder microclimates. This is a selection of a native North American species
