"VINCENT VAN GOGH: CORRESPONDANCE GENERALE" (2 Volumes).
Two massive volumes covering plete letters of artist Vincent Van Gogh, from 1853-1890. In the original French language. Most are written to his brother Theo, with other recipients as well, and they cover a truly massive range of topics, moods, issues, and so on.
The books are softcover, 9 x 6 inches, and were published "Editions Gallimard" as part of their "Biblos" collection, in Paris in 1990. There are also quite a few illustrations throughout the books, mostly ones that were drawn by Vincent as parts of the letters themselves. The books are 882 and 848 pages. The set are former LIBRARY books, but they are in excellent condition -- no card pockets, no stickers or stamps on the outside, and only a single sticker to the inside of the front & back covers (see the scans for details of these). But there is no writing, no stains or soiling, and the books are very solid with a tight spine & the pages all lay flat as they ought to. They look as if they've never been read!
