Leaders in Training will provide youth with the necessary skills to be an effective leader in munity. Through participation in group activities focused on leadership, communication and teamwork, participants gain a valuable experience. Participants can sign up for a traditional camp program one period each day. Participants must be able to direct their own care and contribute thoughts and ideas to the group. Now offered at both camps! The Leaders in Training program helps young adults develop leadership and other practical skills, which can be used throughout their lives for their own personal growth.
Each session has no more than 8 LIT participants, who live in a cabin with other LITs and are supervised by the LIT programmer. They gain valuable leadership skills through team building activities, discussions, journals, mentoring and evaluations.
The program is both challenging and fun. The LITs live together, hang out together and participate in activities designed to build leadership skills as well as participate in regular camp programs, as LITs. There are also plenty of opportunities for everyone to practice their newly developed leadership skills within the munity.
Leader In Training Eligibility Between the ages of 17—26 years Independent in own self-care or be able to direct own care (help will be available) Interested in developing leadership skills This program is open to teenagers between the ages of 17 – 26 years (as of July 1 of the camping year) who have a physical disability. Participants must be able to direct their own care, participate in team building activities and interested in developing leadership skills. Easter Seals Ontario counsellors will be able to provide campers with any care they may require, however, campers should fortable directing their own care, as the counsellors will take their direction from them. in awesome condition please buy
