Large Toy – Mattel Jack-in-the-Box

This listing is for a 1952 toy by Mattel. It is an organ grinder and a monkey. When the handle is turned there is short tune played and after a few turns the ‘monkey’ pops. The toy is hard plastic frame (organ grinder face, hands, stand, monkey, and lid) with cloth arms and hair. The grinder’s body and box are cardboard. The toy is operational but not really; by that I mean the release mechanism needs a ‘tune-up’ It looks like there is an elastic band, either to operate or hold together, unsure, but that band is just about gone. The left arm has worn free from its fixed position in the box.
