This slim profile JVC receiver sounds so good, I was thinking about keeping it for myself, as a kitchen system backup. (currently a Marantz PM550 hooked up) It's bare bones design, no extras, short signal path, clear beautiful sound, and that's what I like about it. For the size, it's unbeatable, because with the right speakers it sounds so much better than all mini systems. The best speakers match for best possible sound: bookshelf size 8 Ohms.
Basic 1-hr maintenance service done 09/2021:
* Taken apart, dusted off using industrial pressor, cleaned and detailed in and out; * All controls deoxed and lubed using the best available pro grade D100, F5 and G5 sprays ($124 for 3 cans); * FM adjusted for best reception and best stereo separation; * Reassembled, tested at full power output into a dummy load and is stable.
Crisp, clear, very enjoyable, precise and musical sound at normal listening levels; All parts are original including main fuse, no repairs.
