History: Jack found himself tied to the door of a pet store on Valentines Day before making his way into foster care so we don’t know a lot about where he came from. One thing we can tell you is that Jack is a happy go lucky young boy, excellent with people and other dogs and will take as much attention as you will give him. He is very smart and has excelled at his training, learning a range of tricks and lots of good house manners to make him a pleasure to have around. Jack is learning how to walk on a leash, absolutely loves car rides, and with his puppy curiosity and interest still guiding him, he is excellent when visiting new places and exploring new things like toys. Jack is still learning how to control his high prey drive which is something that his future family will need to understand and accept as part of who he is. He has made great strides with positive feedback and re-direction, but his affinity to want to chase small things will need to be understood and managed as it can be challenging at times to work through. That aside, this wonderful mid-size ball of warmth will melt your heart with the rest of him and with patience and consistency, Jack will get better and better at managing his desire to chase and will grow into the house hippo he is destined to e. He doesn’t like being separated from his people and will follow you everywhere but with a Kong and his favourite treats, will go into his crate when he needs to be left alone. He is an easy boy and is just as happy to be snuggling on the couch, riding shot gun in the car, or running around in the yard with a playmate. Jack pletely house trained, will ask to go out when he needs to, will sleep all night, is crate trained up to 2-3 hours at a time, can sit, shake a paw, lie down, stay, and will wait when asked. He is very gentle taking treats, is clearly a foodie and enjoys eating at his own pace, and is never in a rush to get up in the morning as he would rather snuggle for as long as you would like. He is very smart, thoroughly enjoys playing with his house-mate and his toys, and is doing his very best to live politely with the two resident house cats. Jack will benefit from someone who will ensure he gets lots of exercise everyday, and who is interested in continuing with training and fun activities such as agility to keep him stimulated and engaged. His foster family reports that whoever is lucky enough to be able to bring Jack.
