Italian Wedding Blanket

When is the last time you saw one of these? if ever?? This is a chenille velvet Italian wedding blanket. Also considered a tapestry, bedspread or even a carpet. From what little I could find online of the history, they were sent by soldiers in World War II to loved ones. I found some online claiming to be from the 1930s but this one is in too good of condition to be that old. I also got it from a house in Trail many months ago and I believe it was their wedding blanket. Unfortunately I never got to confirm that with the owner. Incredibly interesting piece none the less.
