HUBERT du ROSCOAT Signed Hand Painted and Etched Ashtray
Description : 12 Aug, 2023
Measuring 7 1/4" in diameter, this ashtray depicts a French Canadian village or farm scene. It is signed by the artist: Hubert du Roscoat , a French born artist who lived in in Brittany and Quebec, so this might be an accurate depiction of either place His rustic style always uses textured clay that he then incises while it is still wet. He then paints the scene and the pigments permeate the porous surface. The glaze if used, is matte.
