The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for working independently or as a team under direct supervision of Site Supervisors. Responsible for the de-icing and clearing of snow from Airport properties; Groundside and Airside in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.
LOCATION Toronto Pearson Airport and/or Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (BBTCA)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES -Snow Removal within Airside and Groundside at Toronto Pearson Airport -Snow Removal within Airside and Groundside at BBTCA -Work closely with Site Supervisor and Crew in the de-icing and removal of snow from walkways, and parking lots for various aviation Groundside and Airside properties according to the specified contracts. -Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, sweepers, tractors, spreaders, skid loaders, compact tractors, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal. -Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions on Airside (Which include: Potassium Acetate, Sodium Formate, Urea) -Daily Equipment Safety Check and ensuring all plies with safety precautions
REQUIREMENTS -3 Years experience with operating heavy equipment for at least 1 of the following: Sweeper, Loader, Skidsteers/Bobcats, Small Broom, Excavator, Dozer -Valid G license with a clean abstract -Willing/able to be on call 24/7 -Reliable, trustworthy and able to work varying hours, days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed -Ability to work safely and efficiently -Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (snow, slush, ice, freezing rain, hail and sub-zero temperatures) -Capable of lifting 50lbs or more
RESPONSIBILITIES -Always represent A.I.M.’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism. -Maintain a clean and safe jobsite, while ensuring property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow. -Maintain care for A.I.M.’s provided equipment, tools and vehicles -Work as a part of a team and take direction. -Attend mandatory training requested by management -Follows A.I.M.’s rules, policies, procedures and regulations. -Reports all incidents involving equipment to Site Supervisor
