With minimum electricity rate increases forecast at 5% for each of the next 4 years that equals a 20% jump in your Hydro bill...an indoor or outdoor wood boiler will pay for itself even quicker. We're starting to see natural gas prices go up as well....
We also have financing available so that your hydro savings can pay for your Heatmaster boiler, please contact us for details.
paring Heatmaster boilers to other manufacturers four things you should ask are:
1.) What is the firebox made of? Heatmaster's stainless steel fireboxes mean less leaking concerns as there is less chance of rust forming along with the easiest cleanout system available. Rust = leaks and leaks are the #1 enemy of boilers.
2.) How often does the ash have to be cleaned out , scraped out or stirred up? Some other manufacturers boiler’s have to be cleaned / scraped out daily while Heatmaster can be weekly or longer. Less cleanout means more time for other things. With our easy to use rocker panel and ash pan cleanout is easy...no shovelling ashes out the door by hand.
3.) How long is the warranty? We have a standard 20 year warranty, what's the sense of a cheaper boiler if you're going to be paying more for repairs or replace it in the future?
4.) Where are they made? Heatmaster boilers are made in Winkler, Manitoba. Parts and service are never far away.
These boilers are great for new builds but can also be tied into your existing heating systems:
1.) Hot water lines can be plumbed to your electric furnace. Your existing furnace fan then blows air past the heat exchanger and the heated air flows through your existing ductwork.
2.) Hot water lines from the boiler can be be plumbed to your electric or gas boiler to heat the water in your concrete slab reducing your electricity / gas consumption.
3.) Hot water lines from the boiler can be plumbed to hot water baseboard heaters, eliminating electric baseboard heaters and their electricity consumption.
4.) Hot water lines from the boiler can be plumbed to your hot water tank(s), heating your domestic hot water for showers, laundry, hot tub and even your pool.
In all cases, your existing heating system (electrical or gas) can be utilized as a backup to your wood boiler if you go on holidays, are away from home etc.
Heatmaster indoor (yes, some models can be installed indoors) and outdoor wood boilers are made in Manitoba (Winkler, MB to be exact), utilizing Canadian workers, expertise and innovation.
Heatmaster boilers are well suited to new builds but can be tied in very easily to existing heating systems whether you have an electric forced air furnace, electric baseboard heat or in-floor heating....or bination of all three systems.
Our family needed an OWB (outdoor wood boiler) that satisfied a few requirements so as a firewood supplier it was going to be our main heat source so I needed to check on a few things:
1.) Environmentally friendly – As a firewood supplier we pride ourselves on providing sustainable, carbon neutral heating alternative (firewood) to fossil fuels such as natural gas, heating oil or coal. Our OWB needed to do its part to keep smoke emissions low and heat output high to reduce our environmental footprint.
2.) Heat multiple buildings ponents – Quality outdoor wood boilers aren’t cheap and if I was going to pay good money I wanted our unit to heat our home, garage, shop and hot water efficiently and economically. I view the purchase cost of our OWB as prepaying a hydro or natural gas bill in advance.
3.) Look good – Our yard is where we live, work and play and the OWB would be a part of that. We wanted something that worked hard and looked good while doing it and looked like it belonged in our yard, not an industrial afterthought. Little to no smoke was a must have to keep us and our neighbours healthy and happy.
4.) Easy to use / efficient – Even though we supply firewood for a living and have firewood handy, I didn’t want to have to be always filling our furnace when I could be spending time doing other things (like soaking in our wood fired hot tub). I also wanted a unit that made the most of the firewood it burnt.
5.) Local support – As a rule I like to buy Canadian and even better buy from a pany. This supports our economy as well as having a local contact for any technical questions, parts, best practices etc. It also saves on shipping.
6.) User references – It’s pretty easy nowadays to have a professional looking website and impressive marketing materials. Whether it’s a truck, a furnace, a tractor or whatever I always like to talk to people that actually own / use one before I buy.
After looking online, speaking to manufacturers and dealers, attending trade shows and meeting with actual boiler owners I decided on Heatmaster, specifically the G4000. Even though the initial price of the G Series is higher than their MF cousins, my plan is to spend a bit more at the start and less over the lifetime of the furnace due to reduced firewood consumption and higher heating efficiency. After speaking and meeting with Devon and the team at Heatmaster we asked about ing a dealer. As a high quality firewood supplier we like to partner with other high quality producers, like Heatmaster.
I know you have lots of options out there when es to heating your home and family with a wood boiler, even more so when you consider electric and fossil fuel options. 4.) After sales support. We’e available 24/7 after your purchase for questions or help by phone, email or text. We guarantee to get back to you the same day you have a question.
