This is an opportunity not only to own an 80's icon, but a piece of Ferrari history – the 328 was the last Ferrari model for which the legendary Enzo Ferrari led its evolution and design.
The 328 may look similar to its 308 predecessor, however there were some very notable changes, the most significant being the newly designed bored and stroked 3.2 L V8 engine, featuring redesigned heads and revised cams producing 270 bhp at 7,000 rpm, linked to a new electronic ignition system.
The model could now boast: • Maximum top speed of 163 mph (263 km/h) • Maximum torque of 223 lb.ft at 5500 rpm • 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 6.00 seconds, very fast in-period
The ABS breaking system with vented discs was only introduced in the 1989 model year, identifiable by the convex rather than concave magnesium wheels.
To modate the extra power and torque, the front and rear suspension coil springs with anti-roll bars were significantly upgraded.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was carried from its 308 predecessor, but with some notable changes including a redesigned, more rounded nose and body-colored bumpers.
As the final evolution of Ferrari’s transverse-mounted naturally aspirated V8, the 328 series is considered one of the more reliable and useable classic road-going Ferraris on the market, and if properly maintained will provide many years of confident and care-free driving. Plus, the engine does not have to be removed for the mended timing belt service.
The mon Nero Metallic finish of the subject car results in a sleeker and stealthier overall visual pared to other colour finishes, for which the removable targa roof, top spoiler, rear deck engine heat exhaust ribs, side window louvres, front spoiler, indented belt line and rear lower fascia remain black, creating a choppier less-cohesive look.
And, no other colour provides the depth of shine where you can see forever when professionally buffed & polished, which this car recently underwent.
