Covering everything from science fiction ics to myth and fantasy, this is a lovely and varied collection of Vallejo's work. This book beautifully showcases his vibrant use of colour and his wonderful creatures. It includes some of his finest paintings that have graced the covers of countless books.
A cult classic that contains a short introduction by Lester del Rey (an award winning sci-fi writer and magazine editor) but consists mostly of very high quality full page lithographic plates that are designed to be detached from the book for framing and display. The plates are in very good condition, some at the back are slightly creased on the lower corners. The book pleat with no plates missing (see list below).
The overall condition is good with some creases on lower corner of back cover, slight fraying of the spine and cover at the bottom, some very slight staining on one of the introduction pages, a very small tear on the spine that is repairable as the paper is still attached (see pics).
The yellow tinge of the covers is original to this version of the book. It is not yellow due to age, see versions here: ?143776
