Seller ID: 168015 .................... --------softcover, ma Near Fine example, looks new, unpaginated (about 100 pages), examples of Atget's photographs taken at Sceaux, all text is in FRENCH, produced for an exhibition at Musee de L'Ile de France, ---"En 1901, Eugène Atget (1857-1927) photographe du vieux Paris et du patrimoine de ses environs découvre la ville de Sceaux. il y revient à plusieurs reprises jusqu'en 1925, où il explore le parc, alors laissé à l'abandon. En soixante-quatre prises de vues, il réalise parmi ses plus belles images. De son exploration du domaine et de ses passages réguliers dans la ville, il produit deux albums. L'ouvrage présente les quatre-vingt-huit photographies issues de ces albums, entrés dans les collections du Musée de l'Ile-de-France en 1994. Parmi elles, la série Sceaux, qui contribua à établir la notoriété du photographe, est pour la première fois publiée intégralement. L'intérêt d'Atget pour l'architecture du domaine ne porte pas sur les édifices d'époque classique en raison de leur caractère ancien mais sur leur état d'abandon, sur l'emprise que la nature exerce sur eux, et sur cette nature elle-même sur le point de disparaître.
