DOORSTOP (GE PORTABLE STEAM IRON MODEL F97) - vintage, 1960s

ATTENTION VINTAGE LOVERS: This lightweight GE travel iron belonged to my mother and by the look of the wrapping on the cord, I would guess that it's from the early 1960s. My mother always owned a regular-size iron so would not have used this one at any time other than when she was travelling. The iron appears to me to be excellent shape - no flaws to note other than some light scratches on the soleplate. I plugged it in today and it heated up. A plastic water bottle screws onto the iron. Instruction books says to use cold tap water or distilled/demineralized water for steam. I haven't put any water into the iron, and haven't tried using it to iron anything, but even though it's about 60 years old now, I have no reason to suspect that it won't work properly. If I did, I wouldn't sell it, or even give it away. Comes with plastic fill bottle, box, instruction book and pink service location card. Weight is 1.75 pounds.
