DINKUM PLATYPUS David Hand's Animaland Beswick England BP-1
Vintage (1948-1954) Beswick figurine of the character Dinkum Platypus from the British cartoon Animaland. David Hand was an animator who worked for Disney studios and worked on Bambi and Snow White. In 1944 he left for Britain and started Gaumont British Animation in 1946 producing Animaland and Musical Paintbox cartoons. pany closed down when there was no US distribution for their cartoons.
This figurine is in a high gloss glaze in mainly shades of brown, yellow bill and green base. Measures approximately 4" high.
There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. There is overall crazing as mon but doesn't detract from the overall appearance.
