JAPAN-MADE VERSION, HARD TO FIND Much harder to find low mileage like this one; I can assure you that buying them beaten up (over 3/4 of used market for this model) does not make sense, as pro models tend to have many many hours on them (essentially played to death), besides there are sellers who sell as-is condition CD players as fully working.

Denon DN-C635 is one step up from DN-C615, same Denon series (2003-2013), same fabulous sounding Burr Brown PCM1716 DAC, reviewed by Lampizator. The main difference between these CD players is the number of features in DN-C635 and the presence of balanced XLR output, in addition to standard analog and digital connectors. For the sound, they are the same; personally I prefer DN-C615 for simplicity and possibly better reliability (for the very reason of being simpler). However, the DN-C635 es a must for someone in need of balanced connectors.

The DN-C635 is pletely revised successor to the very popular Denon DN-600F. It is quite a unique model, unlike any other newer Denon. A top notch Burr-Brown PCM1716 DAC (pictured) implemented in a purist's circuit; short signal path, very low jitter. The clarity, dynamic performance and astounding musicality are top characteristics of this model. The DN-C635 is currently one of 5 best sounding CD players in the pro market, new or used. It is hugely popular in the Asian markets, for audiophile use. A home CD player with better sound quality will cost you over $2000 new. Hearing is believing; it is very, very hard to beat sound quality of this CD player.
