Hello, my name is Matthew-John Slim, and I am a 23-year-old jazz pianist and teacher. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in jazz studies as well as a diploma as a performing musician. My specialties are jazz and contemporary music, but my background has allowed me to explore and learn a wide range of musical styles (Hip-Hop ,Soul, funk, etc.) I also have a background in music production. I support myself by doing corporate gigs and teaching.
I provide dynamic, interesting lessons that are tailored to my students' preferences and skill level. My classes are designed for people of all levels ranging in age from 10 to 80 years old. As I have worked for many music schools in this area, I have a lot of experience teaching beginners and children. If you want to learn to play the piano, improve your technique, expand your theory, or learn to improvise in a style, I can help you.
Specifically, the courses can be accessed either alone or in conjunction with music theory, arrangement, composition, music theory, and/or music history.
Classes are held in English or French and are delivered online via Zoom or Discord. I also provide in-person classes.
Hours of operation: Monday 1-6. Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday 11 am to 4 pm
My rates are as follows: - $50 for a one-hour lesson - $30 for a 30-minute lesson Only interac e-transfers are accepted.
