A collection of vintage Children's books by Mary Grannan (Mary Muggins,CBC, and Just Mary stories) THESE ARE CANADIANA FOR SURE. You won't find them so readily . They date back to 1940s. $15 each.

Mary Grannan was a school teacher but went to work for CBC radio. Each Sunday she woiuld tell Mary stories on the air. Each Wednesday she brought you the strange adventures of of Maggie Muggins. She liked what she was doing and she smiles at you from the back cover of the book.

1. Maggie Muggins: a. Maggie M. and Mr. McGarrity, has bright cover picture. Not seen on most other of Grannan's books. Mr. G . is sixty , has a red handled hoe, eyes that twinkle and dance. He helps Maggie think of things to do. He gave Maggie a turtle named slowboy and a rabbit named Henry. Maggie Muggins is 6 years. red pigtails and many freckles and her friend is Mr. McGarrity. Things happen to Mary the minute she is out of bed. She found a water fairy in the garden hose and went to the rainbow with a robin. She found the firefly's lantern and played with a dragon. What fun!
