This classic Murano/Venetian floral chandelier is available for discriminating buyers who have a knowledge and love for grand European lighting. This large fixture is not a reproduction but a genuine Venetian chandelier purchased directly by the seller from Murano from a glass pany that has been in business of over 600 years.
Located within the Venetian archipelago, the island of Murano was made famous by its glass furnaces since the 13th century and is world renown for their glass products. For most people they would likely know them best for their collectable small glass figurines and accents pieces. Lessor known are the large chandeliers, similar to this one, which have been adorning the great chateaus and elegant villas of Europe for centuries. This superb large piece is hand-made of all glass chandelier custom made to the owner’s specification.
Eighteen carat gold is infused in the glass to reduce the starkness of clear glass which effects a warm glow from the fixture. The chandelier is made from two joined pieces, one with fifteen lights and another with five. These pieces can be installed as one longer/larger chandelier or two (one large and one small) shorter pieces. The price also includes the owner’s assistance to install the piece at your location (GTA only). The ideal installation space would be an open two-story entrance foyer as the piece is quite large and lengthy. This item would also create a stunning first impression for any restaurant, office or mercial business seeking to make a grand statement.
The backstory of this item is; while the seller was vacationing in Venice, purchased this two-tiered classic Venetian floral chandelier for a home with a large two- story entrance foyer. Some years later when the house was being sold, the new owners, while they clearly wanted the chandelier, they elected to offer a price that simply did not reflect the fixture's true value. Assuming they had extraordinary leverage and thus expecting a windfall, were somewhat surprised when their offer was refused and subsequently the chandelier removed/disassembled.
The chandelier has remained stored in several boxes since then and is being offered for sale to a party who has some understanding of its actual value and is willing to work with the seller to install this magnificent piece in their home mercial property.
