Hi up for sale is a classic 1987 Jaguar XJS I have owned many classic cars as an enthusiast. One such car was a 1984 Jag XJS. I loved the design of the car and smooth power from the V12. I enjoyed the car for some time then had to sell it. Years later I wanted to purchase another one and now living on the west coast in Vancouver BC, I located this XJS in San Jose California. It was owned by a jaguar enthusiast that owned a British car repair shop. He owned it many years and then passed away. The car sat in their garage for 3 years and then his wife decided it was time to sell the car. I looked at a number of these but really liked the bronze color as it was rare in Canada. After viewing a few other XJS’S I purchased this one due to the mature ownership, overall condition of the car and story behind it. You can see the original picture of me with the owner’s wife and the car in their garage and the night picture when I took possession. I drove the car all the way up from San Jose to Vancouver Canada. It drove great with no issues. I imported the car and the car was inspected and then insured. I enjoyed the car with the local British car club. While discussing this car with one of my best friends in Toronto ( my birth city ), he shared with me he always liked these cars and expressed interest in purchasing it from me. When the time came for me to sell the car, I sold it to my friend. As I had several different cars this one went to a British car specialist that do full restorations and are highly trained. I had them check the car prior to shipping the car back East to Toronto. Upon servicing, it was discovered there was some coolant loss and once tested the heads were removed and some fine lines were discovered on the base of the heads. Car had 209000 miles My mechanic was well connected and the cost to replace the heads and then machine etc it would add up so he located another engine with 150,000 kms on it so we decided to replace the engine that would give many more years of use. I then drove the car for a few weeks until the drop off date for rail transport. My friend then took delivery of the car and it went into his garage. Later he then had it inspected as each province needs an out of province inspection and each mechanic then determines what the car needs for them to sign off on the car. They said they would like the lower control arm bushings done and it needs the new steering rack repaired. He purchased the steering rack but waited. He was involved with various matters , home renovation projects and as he has a Corvette already so the jag has not been used and he decided it is better to go to someone that also likes these cars and can the car done and on the road to enjoy the car. With the above noted the car is a genuine California car. Solid body and dry undercarriage which is most important for classic cars. The black leather interior is in good condition. The real wood lacquer on the dash had some fine cracks due to age and he has refinished a portion of it with the remaining to be done. This is one of the nicest designed cars and will always be and a true California car that you can do a little fix up now and have it ready for spring cruising in a few months.
