White-legged Snake Millipedes (Tachypodoiulus niger) are a small species, with adults reaching an average of 2" long. Very easy to care for, they feed on algae (fish food and spirulina), decaying plant matter, and fresh fruit and veggies. An excellent addition to any collection as pets or as clean-up crews. They mature in 3 years, living up to 9 years. Similar to isopods, the ideal enclosure is a sturdy plastic container with air holes or a ZooMed Bugarium. That's if it's not going into a vivarium with other animals. Furnish with Black Earth topsoil and top with a little moss, leaf litter, and bark to hide. Mist daily; keep temps in the 70s. 15+ for $35 Home-made protein: $8/3oz
